Manufacturer's warranty
Covers the equipment itself — compressor, fans, boards, sensors and controls. Typically five to seven years depending on brand and model.
Two layers of cover on every installation: the manufacturer's warranty on the equipment, and our warranty on the work we did. Here is exactly what each one means.
Covers the equipment itself — compressor, fans, boards, sensors and controls. Typically five to seven years depending on brand and model.
Covers the work we performed — pipework and insulation, brazed joints, brackets and mounting, drainage, electrical connection, make-good and commissioning.
Sits on top of both and cannot be excluded. Goods must be of acceptable quality; services must be provided with due care and skill.
Photograph your invoice, the model and serial number plates on both indoor and outdoor units, and each compliance certificate, and keep them in a folder in your email or cloud storage. Warranty claims are far smoother when the paperwork is one search away rather than in a drawer somewhere.
Give us the symptom, any error code, and the model if you have it. We can often narrow the cause before we arrive.
We establish what has actually failed and whether it sits under the manufacturer's warranty, our workmanship warranty, or neither.
If it is a manufacturer claim, we lodge it and coordinate the parts and repair rather than sending you to a call centre.
The repair is carried out and documented, and the report goes into your records.
Every system we install carries the manufacturer's warranty, which is typically five to seven years on the equipment depending on the brand and model. The exact term and what it covers is set by the manufacturer, not by us, and we give you the documentation on handover.
Our workmanship warranty covers the parts of the job that are ours rather than the manufacturer's: the refrigerant pipework and its insulation, brazed joints, brackets and mounting, condensate drainage, the electrical connection and isolator, core drilling and make-good, and the commissioning of the system. If any of that fails because of how we did it, we come back and fix it.
Usually, yes. Most manufacturers expect evidence of regular maintenance in line with their documentation, and a claim can be refused where a fault is attributable to neglect — a filter that has never been cleaned, or a coil packed with debris. Keep your records. A professional clean and sanitise every one to two years comes with a compliance certificate, so you have that evidence if you ever need it.
Call us first. We will diagnose the fault and tell you whether it falls under the manufacturer's warranty, our workmanship warranty, or neither — wear items and damage from outside causes generally are not covered by either. If it is a manufacturer claim we lodge it and coordinate the repair for you rather than sending you off to deal with a call centre yourself.
Typically: consumable and wear items such as filters and remote batteries; damage from power surges, storms, flood, vermin or corrosive coastal conditions; faults caused by lack of maintenance; damage from work carried out by others; and misuse. Cosmetic marks that do not affect operation are also usually excluded. The manufacturer's documentation is the definitive list and we hand it to you on completion.
Manufacturer warranties commonly transfer with the property, but the terms vary by brand and some require the new owner to register the transfer. If you are selling, leave the documentation and compliance certificates with the house — a documented, well-maintained system with warranty remaining is a genuine selling point. Call us if you need a copy of your records.
Yes, and they sit on top of any manufacturer or workmanship warranty rather than replacing it. Under Australian Consumer Law, goods must be of acceptable quality and services must be provided with due care and skill. Those guarantees cannot be excluded, and nothing on this page limits them. If something has gone wrong, talk to us — we would rather fix it than argue about which document applies.
We are happy to clean, sanitise and replace systems we did not install, and we work on most major brands. What we cannot do is honour another installer's workmanship warranty, and if the original installation was done poorly — unpressure-tested pipework is the classic — we will tell you what we find and quote the remediation separately. Manufacturer warranty on the equipment itself is unaffected by who maintains it, provided the work is done competently.
Call us with the model and the symptom and we will take it from there.
Tell us the system, roughly when it was installed and what it is doing. If we installed it, we will have your records on file.
