Refrigeration & air conditioning technicians
Supply and installation of split and cassette systems, new for old replacements, and cleaning and sanitising. ARC licence required.
We are a Bayswater-based team looking for technicians, installers, electricians and apprentices who do careful work and talk to customers like adults. Good vehicles, steady work, and a business that backs its people.
We are usually hiring across at least one of these. If your role is not listed, send your CV anyway — good people are worth making room for.
Supply and installation of split and cassette systems, new for old replacements, and cleaning and sanitising. ARC licence required.
Air conditioning experience preferred. Certificate of Electrical Safety work across residential and light commercial jobs.
Refrigeration and air conditioning apprenticeships with genuine mentoring, rotated across installation, replacement and cleaning so you learn the whole trade.
We are a small enough business that you are a name rather than a fleet number, and established enough that the work does not dry up in April. Most of our jobs are within twenty to thirty minutes of Bayswater, which means less time on the ring road and more time actually working.
Reliability, a current driver's licence, the relevant licences for your role, and the ability to deal with customers respectfully in their own homes. We work in people's houses — drop sheets down, clean up afterwards, explain what you did. That is the standard.

Our regular openings are refrigeration and air conditioning technicians, installers, apprentices in refrigeration and air conditioning, and registered electricians with air conditioning experience. From time to time we also take on an estimator or scheduler on the office side.
For technician and installer roles, yes — refrigerant handling in Australia requires an Australian Refrigeration Council licence, and we cannot put you on the tools without one. For apprenticeships you do not need it up front; you work under supervision and obtain your licence as part of your training. If you hold an electrical licence but not an ARC licence, talk to us anyway.
We do, and we take it seriously rather than treating apprentices as cheap labour. You will be paired with an experienced technician, rotated across installation, replacement and cleaning so you see every side of the trade, and supported through your off-the-job training. What we ask for is reliability, a willingness to learn and a driver's licence.
Varied, physical, and largely in and around people's homes across Melbourne's east. A typical week mixes split system and cassette installs, new for old replacements, and cleaning and sanitising jobs. Summer and the start of winter are the busy peaks. You will be in ceilings, on ladders and occasionally on roofs, so a reasonable level of fitness and a head for heights genuinely matter.
Technical competence is the entry ticket, not the differentiator. What sets people apart here is how they deal with customers — explaining things plainly, giving honest advice about cleaning versus replacing, and leaving a house cleaner than they found it. We would rather train a careful, straightforward person on a new brand than employ a fast installer who leaves a mess and an argument behind.
Technicians and installers are provided with a fully equipped work vehicle, and we supply specialist equipment including recovery machines, vacuum pumps, gauges and test instruments. You are expected to have your own basic hand tools. Uniforms and personal protective equipment are provided.
Send your CV and a short note about the kind of work you are after through the form on this page, or email it to info@mrcoolmrheat.com.au with the role in the subject line. Tell us your licences, how long you have been in the trade and which part of Melbourne you are based in. We read every application and we reply to all of them.
Most of our work is through Melbourne's eastern and south-eastern suburbs, so living within reasonable reach of that area makes for a much better working life — you are not spending an hour each way before you start. That said, if you are the right person we will have the conversation. Apply and tell us where you are based.
Send us your CV and a couple of lines about the work you want to be doing.
Use the form below to introduce yourself — your licences, how long you have been in the trade, and where you are based. Then email your CV to info@mrcoolmrheat.com.au with the role in the subject line.
