Efficient timely and expert installation of our Mitsubishi split system. So much better for health and pocket than cumbersome gas ducted heating. Thankyou
A filter rinse only reaches the surface. We strip the indoor unit down, wash the coil, fan barrel and drain tray, and finish with an anti-bacterial sanitiser — so the air coming out of your air conditioner is actually clean.
Every time your split system runs in cooling mode it pulls moisture out of the air. That moisture sits on the indoor coil and in the drain tray, and dust that slips past the filter sticks to it. Dark, damp and fed with dust, the inside of the unit is an ideal place for mould and bacteria to grow — and the fan then blows air straight across it into the room.
Cleaning the filters yourself is still worth doing every few weeks in heavy use. But the coil fins, the squirrel-cage fan barrel and the drain tray are behind covers you should not be taking off, and that is where the build-up that causes smells, poor airflow and leaks actually lives.

Around an hour to an hour and a half per wall unit, done in your home with the unit left on the wall.
Drop sheets down and a purpose-made cleaning bag fitted under the indoor unit, so the dirty water goes into the bag — not onto your wall or carpet.
Covers, filters and louvres removed. Filters washed separately and left to dry.
The evaporator coil and the fan barrel are washed through with a coil cleaner and low-pressure rinse to lift the grime and mould out of the fins and blades.
The drain tray is cleaned and the condensate line flushed and flow-tested so water leaves the unit the way it should.
An anti-bacterial sanitiser is applied to the coil, fan and tray to kill remaining mould and bacteria and neutralise odours.
Everything goes back together, the unit is run in heating and cooling, and we check airflow, operation and for any leaks. You get a compliance certificate for the job before we leave.

For most Melbourne homes, every one to two years. Units that run a lot, sit in kitchens, or are in homes with pets, smokers or allergy sufferers benefit from a yearly clean. Keep washing the filters yourself every one to three months in heavy use — it slows the build-up between professional cleans.
Around an hour to an hour and a half for a standard wall-mounted split system. Ceiling cassettes take a little longer. If you have several units we can do them all in the one visit.
No. We clean it in place. A cleaning bag fitted under the indoor unit catches the wash water, and the room is covered with drop sheets, so there is no mess left behind.
We use an anti-bacterial coil sanitiser designed for use in occupied homes and workplaces. It is applied inside the unit, and the room can be used as normal once we have finished and run the system.
A clean coil and fan put out less dust, mould and bacteria, and many customers notice the air feels fresher. It is not a medical treatment, but if the unit has been running dirty it removes one source of the problem.
