Four-way airflow
Air goes out on all four sides, so a single unit covers a much bigger footprint evenly — no hot and cold ends of the room.
Ceiling-recessed reverse cycle cassettes supplied and installed for large living areas, shops, offices and clinics. Four-way airflow from a flush ceiling panel, and nothing hanging on the wall.
A cassette is a reverse cycle air conditioner whose indoor unit sits up in the ceiling void, with only a square grille showing — flush with the plaster or ceiling tiles. It connects to an outdoor unit the same way a split system does, but instead of blowing air one way off a wall, it throws air out of all four sides and draws it back in through the centre.
That four-way airflow is the point. In a large open-plan room, a shop floor or an office, a wall unit tends to blast one end and leave the other end stuffy. A cassette sitting in the middle of the ceiling spreads heating and cooling evenly across the whole space, and leaves your walls free for windows, joinery and shelving.

Air goes out on all four sides, so a single unit covers a much bigger footprint evenly — no hot and cold ends of the room.
Only a slim square panel shows in the ceiling. Nothing on the walls, and it sits neatly alongside downlights and smoke detectors.
Most cassettes lift condensate water up and away, which gives us far more freedom on where the unit goes.
We supply the unit and install it with our own licensed team, start to finish.

Efficient timely and expert installation of our Mitsubishi split system. So much better for health and pocket than cumbersome gas ducted heating. Thankyou

They work well in homes. Any room with a ceiling void above it — a single-storey home, or the upper floor of a double-storey — can usually take a cassette. They are especially good in large open-plan living areas where a wall unit would struggle to reach the far end.
It depends on the model and capacity, but most residential and light commercial cassettes need a ceiling void of roughly 250–300 mm. We check the ceiling depth, the framing and access at the free site assessment before recommending one.
More than a wall split of the same capacity, because of the ceiling cut-in, the concealed pipe and drain runs and the extra labour. The price depends on capacity, ceiling access, pipe length and electrical work. We give you a fixed written price after seeing the site.
Usually about a day for a single cassette with reasonable ceiling access. Larger commercial jobs with several cassettes are staged, and we can work early, late or on weekends to keep a business trading.
No — with the unit up in the ceiling and air spread over four outlets, indoor noise is typically low. As with any system, the outdoor unit placement matters, and we position it away from bedrooms and boundaries where we can.
Yes, like any air conditioner. The filters sit behind the grille and are easy to wash yourself. Every year or two we recommend a professional clean and sanitise to keep the coil and drain pan free of mould and grime.
